Harry Kornilakis

I'm a PhD student at the Dept. of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Athens, Greece in the area of Natural Language Processing and Computational Linguistics. I'm currently doing my research in the Educational and Language Technology Laboratory.

Research Experience

I was part of the research groups in the IST funded BalkaNet project which aimed at the design and development of a multilingual Balkan WordNet and in a project funded by GGET (Greek Secretariat for Research and Technology) that led to the development of the adaptive educational hypermedia system INSPIRE (INtelligent System for Personalized Instruction in a Remote Environment). Currently, I'm working in a GGET funded project dealing with the computational processing of the Historical Archive of the University of Athens.

Teaching

During this semester I'm partially teaching the course "Computational Linguistics".

Interests and Languages

One of my main interests is learning languages. I speak Greek as my mother tongue, fluent English and I also have a good conversational and reading knowledge of Finnish and reading knowledge of German. Lately, I am also learning Swedish.
Another favorite activity of mine is traveling. Here are some photos from my travels.
