Prof. Elias Koutsoupias is the recipient of the prestigious 2012 Gödel Prize.

The Gödel Prize is an annual prize for outstanding papers in the area of theoretical computer science, given jointly by European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS) and the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Algorithms and Computational Theory (ACM SIGACT).

In 2012 the prize given to Prof. Koutsoupias et al. "for laying the foundations of algorithmic game theory": E. Koutsoupias, C. Papadimitriou “Worst Case Equilibria”, Symposium on Theoretical Aspects of Computer Science, (STACS), 1999.

Prof. Christos Papadimitriou, co-recipient of the prize and PhD supervisor of Prof. Koutsoupias, is also Honorary Professor of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
