The FP6-MOBILITY Marie Curie Chairs (EXC) awarded is a Marie Curie Chair for Professor Alexandros Eleftheriadis, a Greek who is currently a tenured Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University in the U.S.A. The Chair will assist the University of Athens to bring him back to a permanent position. Prof. Eleftheriadis is an award-winning researcher of international reputation in the fields of multimedia signal processing and digital video, with a distinguished academic career in one of the best universities in the U.S.
